I had a lot of things happen to me this week and it has been a little bit of a struggle but I have managed to make it through so far.
I received some bad news the first of the week, a friend of mine had passed away. She was the sweetest little old lady, very frail, a very fair complexion, red hair and she wore dark berry colored lipstick, a very unique individual. We met after she moved to the town I live in from Arizona; she was a customer of the place I work. She took a liking to me when she came back in the next time and I had remembered her name, that’s a gift I have is remembering names, and that was the beginning of our friendship. It’s funny how such a small thing could mean so much to a person. When she would come in we were always so happy to see each other and to catch up on how each other was feeling, I know she wasn’t well and she knew that I had had some health issues too. It’s really nice to know that someone genuinely cares and is concerned about you, a real ego boost. We all need people around us like Juanita, and even more, we need to be more like her and empower and nurture others. Bonding, which is the physical/emotional phenomenon between individuals and others in their environment, is necessary for the development of healthy self –esteem. Such a bond gives you the freedom to be yourself and know that it’s “ok” this person is going to like you just the same.
I know in this fast paced world we live in that it’s hard sometimes to stop and take the time to just listen, that’s all, just listen to someone that needs someone to listen, that might be lonely and in need of a friend. It’s sad that we always talked about going to lunch together but that never seemed to come about regretfully, our relationship never ventured from the work place, but that’s ok because we had a bond that not many people have the luxury of ever knowing.
I will miss Juanita greatly but I know that she is in a far better place now, free of pain and suffering. Our Life on Earth is just a Whisper, Greater Things are Yet to Come!
Whether you are suffering from low self-esteem or know someone that is take the time to listen and give to others of yourself, that can be the greatest gift ever given.
If you would like further information on bonding and how to empower yourself through giving you might want to check out the e-book “How to Build Your Self-Esteem in Just One Weekend” it covers that topic and many more.
You might also find the e-book “The Science of Success” worth reading, it is an A-Z guide full of principles, if applied, with improve the quality of your life dramatically.
I recently ran across another program “Social Strategies” that has several audios you can listen to explaining exercises or “games” you can try to help you overcome such things as shyness or social stresses, both of which stem from low self-esteem.
Let’s work together to create the life you have been dreaming of and thought was totally out of reach, it starts with just one step, lets take it together. I’m here for you!
God Bless you!

Kathy
