Life is a gift from God, designed to be enjoyed. He created us to be passionate, loving, caring people. He wants us to experience pleasure and to know how to have a good time without sinning and all he wants in return is our love.
Sometimes I think that we take our lives for granted. We seem to forget what our purpose in life is and how our lives intertwine with other people’s lives. I truly believe that everyone comes into our life for a Reason a Season or a Lifetime. Everyone has a significance and purpose.
The past few days I have been thinking about my Grandpa, may he rest in peace, he passed away on April 13, 2001. That is a date I will never be able to forget, the timing was very strange. That particular year April 13th just happened to be Good Friday, it was also Friday the 13th. And if that weren’t enough, it was the day before my birthday. This all makes it kind of hard on my Grandma because she remembers his passing at all of those times plus one other day, the day he was buried, it was the day before my daughter’s birthday. How ironic.
Grandpa was a very special man and he did live a long life, he was 87. Everyone knew him as “Frog” I’m sure a lot of people didn’t even know his real name, but he was always Grandpa to me and everyone loved and respected him.
When I was growing up grandpa was more of a dad to me than my own dad was. I think that happens in a lot of families because grandpas know how important it is to play with children and put the work aside for a while. Grandpa knew how to love and he put great value on his family, he was a very loving, wise man, a true family man.
I admire him so much. He worked hard for a living but knew when it was time to stop and rest, time for what was important, his family. He was a great role model.
I not only had the pleasure and honor of having him for a grandpa but I also got to see him play with and love my own children. It was so awesome to see him sit and tell the kids stories, read them books, and even help them with their homework. I remember him letting my son help him work on the lawn mower and helped my daughter coax a squirrel close enough to take a nut from her hand, things they will never forget.
I also remember how grandpa was always there to offer advice, support and help out in anyway he felt would be beneficial to you, even financial. I feel very blessed to have had such a wonderful grandpa, he taught me so much and made me feel so special and loved.
I think I am a lot like him in many ways, all the way down to his sense of humor, laughter lightens the spirit. He loved to give and help people and so do I, that’s why I am here, to help you in any way I can. You are Awesome and you deserve to be loved and happy, everyone does!
Life is too short to spend it in fear and feeling sorry for yourself so if you are suffering from low self-esteem and need some help in over coming it, may I suggest you check out “How to Build Higher Self-Esteem in Just One Weekend” it is full of helpful information, quizzes and exercises to help you.
I would like to leave you with a little saying my Grandpa used to say every time we left his company, he would always say “See You in the funny papers”

You are Awesome!

Kathy
