I know some changes are scary and unpleasant such as some of the changes my family has been going through here in the past month or so. My dad has been in the hospital since September 10th and it has been a roller-coaster ride ever since, one day he is a little better and the next he’s not so good. My poor mom has been spending day and night at the hospital just to make sure that she knows what’s going on and to catch all the Dr’s as they come and go.
I’m sure you can see what a change that is for my parents, it’s like a virtual life shift. My Dad has gone from being a workaholic, there was always something that needed done, to lying in bed not even being able to sit up by himself and for no more than a couple min. He is also a man that loves to eat, and now he has been on a feeding tube since Sept. 13th. WOW what a change that would be for anyone don’t you think?
As I am writingthis I am overcome with the feeling of wanting to give my dad a BIG hug right now, tears welling up as I think about how humiliating it must be for him to have all those nurses and Dr’s treating him like a lab project. I just want to hold him and tell him that I love him and for him to be strong and get better.
This really isn’t where I had planned on going tonight…..but here we are. Must be something I need to share. It might also help you to know that my dad and I don’t always see things eye to eye and that we seem to have personality clashes…it’s like he can’t help but make me feel stupid or that I am wrong all the time. He just has a natural nack for irritating me but I have come to accept that and don’t take the things he says to heart anymore.
You see I was giving him the power to make me feel that way. I have discovered that You should never give anyone the power to make you feel stupid or inadequet because you are not. You are as smart as anyone, you are as lovable as anyone and you are just as important as anyone, you just have to believe that yourself.
Sometimes that is hard for us to see because that’s all we know, we were more than likely raised that way. Our self esteem doesn’t just manifest over night, it takes time for these perception to build up in our mind and it begins from the time we were born. The people around us were the biggest influences in our life.
It’s time to take back that power and become the unique, powerful person that you were created to be. You hold the key to your life, your happiness, your success, so unlock that power and begin to LIVE!
Life is too short to be unhappy and you never know when your time may come….. you may even find yourself fighting for your life, maybe just like my dad, in the true sense of the word.
Get help whether it be from a friend, a life coach, or if you would like to try to help yourself, it doesn’t matter how, just get help and become lovable in your own mind then you will manifest that and others will follow. You are like a mirror, like attracts like. I like you
If you are looking to overcome a low Self Esteem I think you should check out “How to Build Your Self Esteem in Just One Weekend” I’m not saying that it will only take a weekend to get rid of the feelings of low self esteem but it will give you a lot of good useful information, quizzes and how to’s to help you on your discovery of YOU.
I have also found “7 Power Words to Live by for a Meaningful and Happy Life” to be very useful as well. Check it out.
